I did it!

I finally got the Chocolate Torte rite this time! I was so delighted when it was just out from the oven.

However, when I try to turn it out, it cracks (maybe the pan is not greased enuf)! I was dishearten. Intended to bring this to office to share with collegues, but look at the cracks, it's impossible. But, I think I will still go ahead to bring this out!

I took a slice to try! It tasted wonderful!

Hi, want kind of chocolate did you use? I used dark chocolates so the colour looks more dense as compared to yours. The other thing is, which pan size did u your use? I use an 18cm pan, and the position of the rack in the oven, the temperature, will also affect the outcome of this cake. Only a little flour is used in this cake, as such, the beating of the egg whites to stiff peak is important. Hope this helps :) I like the way you decorate the cake with the cream and kiwi fruits!

Hi HHB,

This 2 were made with Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Bar (4oz) + Red Man Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar (bal) and it's 8" non-stick Pan. I position the rack in the centre of the oven.

So, any other thing that you can think of that contributes to the crack? Bake too long?

hmmm, sounds like what I did...nothing seems to be wrong? the only difference is that I didn't use a non-stick pan..could this affect the result?
